Who we are?

Ferrivia Story

Late 2024, while giving an interview to Runners magazine about iron deficiency, Mari, our co-founder was struck by something unexpected. The reporter began sharing horror stories of women who had struggled with iron deficiency for years without ever receiving a proper diagnosis. They were dismissed, told they were simply burned out or even depressed.

Soon after, she started hearing the same kinds of stories from many other women. Mari had, of course, coached athletes around this topic—but what surprised her was realizing it wasn’t just athletes. Iron deficiency was silently affecting women everywhere.

She began to wonder: how can something “as simple as” iron deficiency be so poorly addressed? The more she researched, the clearer it became that iron deficiency is anything but simple. It is complex, multi-dimensional, and deeply misunderstood.

What struck her the most was this: one out of three women have low iron. And for some reason, that fact is accepted as normal. As if women are just supposed to live with it.

Ferrivia was born to challenge that idea. We believe iron deficiency deserves better diagnosis, care, and awareness—and that women deserve better health.
